We, The Blues Party, are traveling up U.S. Highway 61 because it is the "Road of Hope" and was responsible for introducing the world to Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Rock and Roll. With the mighty Mississippi River as our guide, we intend to showcase America's rich cultural heritage, thought words and music. We feel art is the best way to introduce more spirituality into the current presidental campaign.
More spirituality leads to more compassion and thus the Blues Party hopes to honor the people that politics fails to represent. "It's the Kindness, Stupid". Our hope is that more is spent on peace than on war. We also want to stress the importance of music and art programs remaining in schools. We will end our journey near Chicago with a traditional Native American fast to honor the first Americans.
We are starting on the spot where Highway 61 begins on Tulane Avenue in New Orleans. We then will meet in a local club with readings and music and a talk about Jewish Renewal, a new spiritual look at Judaism. Each stop will have a spiritual discussion on different beliefs.
Our ultimate goal is for America to live up to the ideals that make this country one we are so proud of. We hope you will join us to celebrate hope, tolerance, justice and spirtuality. Thanks so much and see you upstream.
